tech round

we were asked to wait near the conference room for our tech round . the hr was taking around 45 min for each guy . i was the 6th or 7th guy to be called . it was almost 2030hrs when i was called.

the hr was around 40 yrs old . he had a blank face.
he asked me to take my seat .

hr: tell me about yourself .
me: well i was born in bangalore . my dad is a taxconsultant .mom a housewife .brother is studying .
(hr was getting bored n iterrupeted)

hr: why is your resume so small
me: i tried to keep it as short as possible only the important details are in it(my resume was copied from my friend ,most of it was his achivements ...my resume had come down to half a page after eleminating them)

hr: u should include your interests and hobbies u know . u should also include details of your parents and contact details .
me : (smiled)

hr:ok fill in this form
me:(filling)
hr: tell me your intrests.
me :(trying to keep the topics as easy as possible)
cad , design , automibles ..
hr : tell me the various parts of an automobile .
me : (happy with the question as i knew it by heart , i had mugged the subject for exams recently)power house , the basic structure ,
hr :what are they
me :the basic structure refers to the chassi, axle.....
hr :continue
me: the power train , super structure,controls and accessories.
hr: ok ,consider i ask u design a car ... what would you do to ensure comfort.
me:(started off with suspension as i knew the topic by heart ) the main thing to be considered to have a comfortable ride is the suspension . (other details forgotten)

the automible questions went on for 20 min i answered all of them pretty confidently.

then came the predicted questions which he had asked the guys before me .

me:yes
hr:then tell me the equation to detrermine the flow rate through v notch.
me: please dont ask me formulas , actually i thought that hcl was an it company and would be asking me questions related to programming.
hr:(no esxpression on his face) should i ask you core java then.
me: (shocked) no i can answer general questions but dont remember formulas
hr: (smiling sarcastically) what do you want me to do
me:please continue i have no problem answering mechanical questions.
hr:(smiling --- he had found that conversation amusing)...

draw afloor cleaner which was in the room-- drew
hr:ok its getting late

--so gave me a figure and asked me draw an isometric view .i drew but he proved it to be wrong ..
hr: do you have any questions for me.
me: no
hr: r u sure
me: yes
hr : thats it .
me: should i wait for hr round or leave.
hr : please wait outside ill let you know.

came out had no hopes of clearing this round . was proudly describing my exploits to my friends . the results of the tech round came in half an hour.
i was selected fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk.
